The hawk reminded me of my boss.

  1. So your boss is beady-eyed?

P.S. I've had enough snow already and this was the only real snowfall of the season. A lot of shoveling.

  2. I'm self-employed. Does that make me beady-eyed? lol.

The snow...the snow! I have this bad habit of rarely checking the weather report. (Why bother? They're wrong most of the time anyway, right?) So, the snow totally caught me by surprise!

But a little surprise now and then keeps life interesting.

    Cheers,

  3. You know, when I met you, I never really looked. Just kidding!!

I figured out the problem with New Year's Resolutions. If you have more than one (I have 4 major ones)they compete for time! It's still a good idea to give yourself yearly goals, but I guess that's where priorities come in.

I'll look for that magazine article the next time I'm at Barnes and Noble. Congrats.

    Take care.

  4. I think it is awesome that you have four goals for this year. You know, I've been thinking about this and I like the word 'goal' instead of 'resolution'. Goal implies something fresh and new and positive whereas resolution (when used in connection with New Year's) has a negative connotation. It often means to drop a bad habit (ie. quit smoking, lose weigh etc.) Maybe that's what bothers me about resolutions.

    Cheers,

  5. Lori,

Goals or Resolutions. They're the same thing under a different name.

If I don't set them at the beginning of the year (I'm actually thinking that I want to set them twice a year - once in January and once in July), I find that I've accomplished nothing at the end of the year. I'm starting to run out of years that I can do nothing. I'm already in my 60s.

It's good to have something to shoot for, whatever you call it, as long as it's measurable so that you have a specific target and not a blue sky idea that you don't know if you accomplished it or not.

I do have weight loss as one of the four, but it's not only the number but changing the way I eat (and what I eat) and a gradually increasing amount of exercise that I'll know if I hit or not.

They're is another one dealing with writing (going beyond where I ended last year), another with finance (won't go into specifics), and a last one going room to room claning out clutter which I accumulated over the years and starting to get overwhelming.

    Busy year ahead.

    Take care.
